Quiet But Not Forgotten

I have been very, very quiet since Trump took office.  Why? Well because the prospect of a Trump presidency made me tired.  I grew weary of all politicians from both sides of the aisle and the complexion of the political landscape in this country.  The state of the political landscape was and still is in my opinion bleak and terribly one-sided.

As a Conservlatarian, I’m prone to the same attitude that most “journalists” pre-political talking heads are leftists and liberals and don’t give conservative-libertarian ideas the consideration they deserve.  This is as much a problem with the process as it is the way most people view the world today and their position in it.

Christian Republicans have ceded their place in the political world for decades, rather than fight for their place in the process and the arena of political ideas, they have preferred to stay above the political fray.  Unfortunately, that is,(in my humble opine), what has given us the current dismal state of our political arena today.  I along with others have become apathetic because I just can’t stand to hear the same tired blah, blah, blah from both sides.  I can’t even watch the news anymore because I’m not sure if what I’m getting is the scoop or someones take on the scoop.  And no, I don’t watch Fox News either, but then I don’t watch any cable “news” programming, most of it gives me a migraine.

I have long been of the opinion that conservatives need to use the Alinsky tactics as the left has so astutely done for years.  What encourages me is that most of my “young” friends and family have taken to the Libertarian world-view and while not perfect it is an improvement to the modern day younguns’ proclivity to Socialism and leftism.

Before I’m labelled a hater or denier, I do not hate nor disagree whole cloth to leftist/ progressives or whatever they label themselves today in regard to their ideas and stances on subjects, although I most often find that I am to the right of their views after careful consideration of the facts.

Even though I voted for Trump, I am not a Trumper,(literally cannot stand the man), and I would have gladly voted for a libertarian candidate if they had put up a viable candidate.  However, in the two-party system that we are saddled with in our country’s modern politics, it is more of a wasted vote to vote outside of the standard “R” or “D.”

I personally think we should all re-read George Washington’s farewell address in its entirety and take his somber warning about the two-party system to heart.

Political “Discussions”

Pet peeve, a facebook post that goes like this, “It’s all those right-wingnuts, that come up with (put your objection here).”  The person who won’t identify themselves with a label, but has no problem labeling someone else whom they disagree with, then goes on to say, “I don’t want to have a political/religious discussion.” That same person goes on to have a political/religious “discussion” with the person who they didn’t want to have said political/religious discussion with in the first place.

Help me here, please… my opinion is that when a person labels another person with a pejorative presumably it is to stop a political/religious discussion, when that “shaming” doesn’t work, they then move on to claiming that the person gets all their opinions from Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity (add Conservative talkers here). When that doesn’t stop the unwanted political/religious discussion, then the person moves on to claims of “you’re dogmatic” or your “rhetoric belies your ignorance.”

What would be refreshing is to be able to have those much needed political/religious discussions and actually HAVE a well reasoned and honest discussion.  I have no problem self-identifying as a Conservlatarian, I have no issue with liberal/leftists (However, generally disagree with nearly all of their political views and stance on the issues.)

I know that I am not going to change their mind and they certainly are not going to change mine, but wouldn’t it be grand to just be able to have the discussion, and maybe each see the other side and perhaps come away with a better understanding of your political opponent?

Outlaw dangerous hammers in the hands of teenagers?

According to The Blaze (link below) St. Louis teenagers allegedly bludgeoned a man to death with hammers.

When will we hear the calls from the Leftists Progressive “do-gooders” to the  gubmint, in particular Prez BOmeonekenobie Phone & Pen to outlaw ALL hammers, which are seemingly dangerous weapons in the hands of teen-agers…*CHIRP* *CHIRP**CHIRP*…

Raids on Craftsman, Kobalt, Stanley & MacTools factories, to follow to confiscate all hammer contraband to keep them out of the hands of errant teens… to thwart future violence…

Also WHEN will the calls to repudiate the incendiary language from Calypso Louie come from the loopey progressive leftsters? More **CHIRPING SOUNDS HEARD FROM THE LEFT**

Protocol Theatre

Slice 2

” Thomas Frieden has now got his Protocol Ali routine down pat:

Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said during a telephone press briefing Wednesday that you cannot get Ebola by sitting next to someone on a bus, but that infected or exposed persons should not ride public transportation because they could transmit the disease to someone else.

Gotcha. You can’t get Ebola on a bus or a plane, you can only give it. Good to know. Thanks, Doc.

The Centers for Disease Control is one of those elite federal agencies that people hitherto assumed was, so to speak, immune to the pathologies of less glamorous government bureaucracies. It turns out it’s the DMV with test tubes – just the usual “Sorry? Did we say you need two copies of the green form? We meant you need…
