Allen West Calls Democratic Handouts Modern Form of Slavery | TheBlaze.com.
Who doesn’t love this guy for $1500 Alex…
We need more of our Conservative black brothers and sisters to start speaking up more loudly…
Wednesday evening was no exception, when he took to the House floor to deride Democrats for “handouts” that he dubbed a modern form of slavery. Additionally, West praised Republicans for standing up to big government and protecting individual liberty.
“Our party firmly believes in the safety net,” West said in a floor speech on Wed. evening. “We reject the idea of the safety net becoming a hammock.”
If more black listened to West (Allen), Keyes, Cain et al instead of the victim-hoodism alliance of leftists Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton (the guy who calls for the rich to pay their fair share by paying more but he think he has to pay his taxes, more “do as I say not as I do”) and the moron chorus in Congress…
“What Republicans have long understood is that poor communities are best served they’re empowered to care for themselves,” he continued. “The more they come to rely on government checks, the less they learn to rely on their own ability and ingenuity.
But it was his comments about small government and “slavery” that caught peoples’ attention.
LMAO…I just bet they did…
“For this reason, the Republican value of minimizing government dependence is particularly beneficial to the poorest among us,” he said. “Conversely, the Democratic appetite for ever-increasing redistributionary handouts is in fact the most insidious form of slavery remaining in the world today, and it does not promote economic freedom.”
I can hear the catcalls and screams of Uncle Tom and all the other ugly epithets that leftists/progressive blacks use when someone dares to speak REAL “truth to power”... just a question, is it only old white people (like me) who don’t quite understand what that phrase means? I actually had to go to urban dictionary to find i…*sigh* I know…mental eye-roll…loser…
I read a quote the other day that went something like this:
People say that rich should give their money to the “poor”, so a rich guy went in with 1 million dollars and gave each person $1000 dollars each…a year later he went back and those people were in the same condition they were a year before AFTER having received the money from the rich guy….
This same rich guy COULD have bought 10 Cadillacs, a waste of money you say? Well consider this, the purchase of those Cadillacs would have supported ALL the workers and industries that contributed to the production of those Cadillacs, THUS raising the condition of each person involved…
OR this wealthy person could take that Million dollars, go to the poor neighborhood and BUILD a factory, employ all of the poor and raise their condition and standard of living AND make a tidy profit…
Ask yourself, which approach is best and most wise?
Is wealth REALLY the enemy? Is governmental redistribution going to raise the condition of the people, or lower everyone’s condition to meet the lowest common denominator?
Just askin…TPC
